Deer Carcass

If you want to feed your chickens maggots, I would suggest giving them maggots from maggot contraptions people make to feed their chickens.

It is always best to stay clear of rotting things for chickens, and them eating maggots covered and filled with rotting meat would not be very sanitary.

Also, I would not leave the meat out there to rot. You would attract unwanted guests like buzzards and scavengers like opossums.

There are some places that say maggots cause botulism while there are other places that say they are healthy and cause no problems.

I said urban legend, hard to back up a urban legend.
According to your statement, rotten and moldy food is healthy for chickens?
And all the posts on this forum about chickens with maggot infested vents are invented or something? Do you really need sources for this?
Please back any/all of that with sources.
