I usually get one or two deer each year during the hunting season - I butcher them myself - there is usually a lot of meat on the ribs and other parts of the deer that I don't use - would it be ok to feed this meat to the chickens - it would be raw - does it need to be cooked before feeding it to them - could this practice cause any harm - that's your thoughs - thanks

They can pick up parasites (worms) from meat, but as long as you worm them regularly I personally see no harm. The benefit outweighs the potential harm. They will do good to get the extra protein. JMO.

I leave the deer remains in the chicken yard-----they pick it clean. It never lasted long enough for maggots or anything else.
