Dang deer keep getting into my garden and gnawing on the tomatoes and cukes and other plants. They are not afraid of us in the least, I have to go out there with a broom and physically hit them before they run off.

Any ideas for keeping them out? I've sprayed plants with hot pepper spray and it seems to help but with as rainy as its been I have to apply it every day. I've tried dog hair, but they are not afraid of the dog. Blood meal helps a bit, but the rain just washes it off.

Anyone have good luck with scarecrows or plastic bags?

it depends on how rural you are if this will work or not but my Uncle lives in the sticks and he has a motion activated deer alarm its a high pitch buzz and it drives them nuts... now if you have close neighbors this is not an option but thats all I can think of

Crop damage permit?

ETA for realness...a good fence and electric. Ours is 5' tall, and semi close to the house, our neighbor has 5' and then electric on the top. We both run the 2"x4" livestock fencing with chicken wire on the bottom. So far so good....

marigolds, electric fence, motion activated sprinklers, or just get a block permit and you'll have a couple rednecks willing and able to fill some tags for ya
