Def a Roo, but what kind?-Pics

What is/was he? (Unfortunately, he died this morning due to as yet undetermined illness. But I digress...)
Certainly not the barred rock that the farm store identified!?! I'm curious because we have some girlies with the same markings.

About 12 weeks and lots of copper green/blues coming in the previous 2 weeks.

Oh man...If that's the case, he really was going to be one handsome roo! At least according to some pics I just looked at. Dang it all to heck!!!

Hmm, it looks like a hen to me. My rooster is 10 weeks old and comb and waddle are both WAYYYYY bigger and its RED RED. Not like yours light orange.

Actually, it was really red and much more plump before he got ill. He died this morning and I took these pics about an hour before.

I'd also lean toward partridge rock - I can see he had yellow legs. (sorry you lost him)

Thanks all. I'm kinda thinking he ate a poisonous plant. I had caught him the day before in the garden--rhubarb, tomato and potato plants. Not so good!

Anywhoo- the girls are similar, but without the copper feathering, so I think you guys are right on B Rock!
