Can any one tell me what the difference is between white and yellow maize? We've come accustomed to feeding chickens yellow maize, but what is wrong with white maize? In my understanding it is exactly the same except for the color. In South Africa yellow maize is sometimes more expensive than white maize depending where you buy and if one could save some money, why not?
My ladies is on a diet of yellow maize, sunflower and sorghum. I don't give them any other stuff like hormones etc. They free range everyday and boy are they healthy. I like to add some cayenne pepper to their diet sometimes to control worms and other intestinal problems. I've got four hens laying now and between two of them they have laid about 36 eggs! They are just ordinary farm chickens, no specific breed except for some Plymouth rock hens.

They don't sell much white maize/corn here in the US. Mostly just yellow.

We only give ours corn as scratch for treats and not often in the summer or in very small amounts as it causes them to heat up.
