Hi!
I hatched my first chicks 12 days ago and one baby had a very difficult time hatching. She has two very crooked feet and is so much smaller than the rest. And, of course, she's the one I fell in love with... Sweet Annabelle.❤️. Is there anything I can do to help her?

Hi there, she does look so sweet! I have seen articles in the learning center on this site and on the Internet about how to tape their feet so that the toes will straighten out. I think you have to do it right away and I think it fixes rather quickly because chicks grow so fast.

Oh thank you so much! I tried making the little "shoes," but the bandaids I used didn't stick together well so I've gotta try something else.
She is so sweet. It just breaks my heart.
I think it will work if you cut little cardboard type feet and then taped her feet onto them. I think you said she is already 12 days so you might want to do it soon because otherwise the tendons and stuff will have to be stretched so much to straighten her toes. If you make the little cardboard feet, she might have a hard time in them, so you might have to put her in a little sling for a couple of days until the toes straighten out.She looks super healthy though, so that’s a good thing that she is such a little survivor!
