We live in quebec canada and for a few weeks every summer the temperature gets around 25~30°c with 90% humidity. This year we are ether getting a dehumidifier or an A/C unit for the coop. Our well ventilated two-story coop is 4×8. The smallest AC unit I found is 5000btus and I think it may be way too much. Any experiences with these?

You don't need either. Chickens are fine up to around 38C and if humidity was a problem for them, they would never survive where I live, where it certainly gets hotter than thaat. They have shade, Lots of breeze, and a good water supply, and that is all they need.

I recommend you read the first two links in my signature line, which are articles written by a Canadian. They explain what chickens do and do not need in the way of indoor conditions.

Good luck!
