dehydrated quail

I have been really ill recently so I left the care of the quail in the hands of my daughter and they haven’t had a sufficient amount of water, now that they have got freshwater they are drinking excessively and i am worried that it can could harm them . what can I do to hydrate the quail again without harming them?

I know about chickens, but not much about quail. However, if they are dehydrate, they need to drink well until they are satisfied. They may have watery droppings for a bit, but that is okay. A lack of water can cause a sudden molt.
