Can someone confirm for me, that for the most part, a Delaware rooster (8 weeks old) will have barring on its tail feathers, while the pullets tail feathers will be solid black, with white outline.

That's been my experience so far. I believe that sometimes the roo might have solid tail feathers

I have one with distinct barring and one with distinct solid.
My guess is it's a roo. He's huge, red faced, comb size big, wattles distinctly starting to dangle, and he's clumsy. And my other 5 birds with him follow him everywhere.
I've begun an integration process with him and the 5 other 8 week olds, introducing them to my year old hens. He actually attacked my year old Easter egger hen and got a mouth full of head feathers. She submitted to a 7 week old bird!!!

Don't know if the pic uploaded. But here he is with my delaware pullet at about 6-7 weeks.
