Wow, look at that bowl shape!
To be fair, they can stretch out their necks and look more skinny. But this one is looking very round from all directions -- I have several photos in a row of this one chick walking around and in each photo it looks bowl shaped. Which might make it slower, which might be why I can photograph it?

I had 8 hatch three weeks ago ... one I called Hopper because it had an injured foot -- all better now! ... then a break until today ... not sure how many today. Then we have chicks due to hatch next week, too. That's it until I start a few more broodies. I seem to have plenty of broodies at the moment, so I figure I can just keep chugging along. The Delaware hens are laying well right now, but I also have extra eggs in the Delaware coop, from the foster broodies, so I suppose I could get a few DelaMutts. I'm relatively sure I can tell which eggs are which ... :/ I have a hatchery SS foster mom, too. They are sweet hens. Next up on the broody list is a particularly nasty Cuckoo Marans (hatchery) hen we are eager to get out of the nest boxes, she is a ferocious pecker!, and a very sweet Jersey Giant (also hatchery).
