Delawares from kathyinmo

Counting your roosters before they hatch?

:lau

I hope you have a great hatch!

I hope so, too! I'm picking up the eggs, so they don't have to be mailed. I'm assuming I'll end up with at least 50% cockerels. Maybe less, that would be nice! Oh yes, counting birds before they hatch. I love that! :P

It's been super sunny here. Got 7 eggs out of the Delaware coop ... that's like double the average. I know at least one is from one of my two hens, but the rest look like pullet eggs.

Will you be selling fertile eggs in the spring? I'd like to get 3-6 from you. I have to arrange the time around a friends broody silkie. ;)

I'm not planning to ship hatching eggs cuz I don't know what all the regulations are for that.

Is anyone working with Kathy's line selling eggs this year?

I'd be happy with chicks too. Then I don't have to wait for the hen to go broody. :)

Hello to you all.

I think I might try to hatch some in the spring . . . . maybe. I don't really have a large flock anymore. I have 2 Delaware roosters left, and they are not the 2 I had marked as the best for breeding.

I took a few pictures the other day. Not too good, but here they are . . .

KATHY!!!!! So glad to hear from you! Your two boys look good, I hope you join us all in hatching again :)

I hope to set my first eggs of the season in a couple of weeks from 3 F'4's hens from you, and four of their F'5 daughters. The Cock I am going to mate them to for the first go round is one of the F'4 Cocks that I sold to Leslie on here. Going to pick him up Sunday

So glad to hear from you and that you didn't give up the chicken world. You should be real proud of what you created. Although still a work in progress
it is growing and progressing nicely. Even some show placements have been recorded.
I like the last Cock down with the lighter tail. The darker tailed one seems to have he same wing issue that keeps showing up regular with all of us ?
Thanks for joining us - we alway welcome your expertise .
