i purchased a new incubator..ive hatched quite a bit over the last 8-10 yrs. always with incubators that ive had to fight with the temperature setting and humidity, but always had some what of succesful hatches...this new one has me puzzled ...i set 12 eggs that i bought from a local neighbor set the temp.for 100.5 humidity was 40-50 --day 18 till 21st 65 -70 eggs, they were in egg turner till..day 18 went to set eggs air sack looked good .i had two hatch and one pipped and got stuck..the kid thar sold me the eggs got maybe 7 eggs out of the hen house .then went and grabbed the rest from ones he was holding for sale as eating egg s and i also thought he mentioned he cleaned them..plus i dont know if they were the freshest ..kinda shocked that 9 eggs havent pipped yet .any idea

i feel stupid -ive hatched so many in the past .i never needed to do the candling after not hatching on time i usualy just chucked them .so what should i be looking for

Movement, development, signs of early quitting... the regular stuff. Post pics if you please.

Did I read this right: you set 65-70 eggs and all but 9 have hatched so far?

Eggs should be "full" most likely beaks in the air cell pockets that look like shadows. Once they have internally pipped you should see them breathing. Cell phone flashlights through air cell work well for candleing.

no , i was meaning 65 to 70 maybe 73 for humidity during lock down. i just candled the 9 i have, one had real clear air pocket .looks like the right size..id say that one looked great. On the others the edges weren't as defined , little fuzzy around the edges of the air cell or the air cell wasn't a solid circle like it should be
