Delicate question, not sure exactly how to ask this....

I know that *they* say it's not good to have a bantam hen with a much larger roo, but honestly I think it really depends on the roo.

My LF brahma flock includes one bantam brahma, Maggie. My late roo Thor was very much the gentleman, very easy on the hens with a good technique. One of his hens had to wear a saddle for the first two years because she just didn't squat quite right, i.e., they didn't fit well together. However, Maggie the bantam never once was injured by Thor or even had a feather out of place. I'm not quite sure how much Maggie weighs, probably about four pounds. Thor weighed 13 lbs. in his prime.

A. He could be dinner instead.
B. Does it matter - the act is only a tenth of a second long!!!

Gritsar, the ladies I work with are still laughing about the list of realities. I'll bring this thread with me just in case.............

Turken/Brahmas? oh my gosh do you have any pictures?

Meet Sally, the oldest of my turken/brahmas - as a chick:

Pictures don't do Sally justice. She's actually very striking -current:

Now that is very unusal to say the least. I have Brahmas thats why I wanted to see that mix. I also have bantam roos trying to mate with them, so far no fertile eggs, but I have to say gitstar your girl has won the prize for the most unusual breed.

Thanks for the encouragement. He's a pretty low key boy, so hopefully this will work out. He's only just started treading one hen, so far as I know, and he's 22 weeks old.
No way he will be sold or made into dinner - my husband helped him hatch this spring and is very attached, so he's made me promise to keep him, even if we have to make a little rooster coop and keep him away from the girls, which would be the other option.
