Hey Gbov, I'm not far from you ... just N of deland. I had to move out of Deland because they don't allow chickens. We need one of those petitions for Deland, Deltona area too. Just ridiculous not to be able to keep a few hens!

I saw in the local mullet wrapper that the Deltona City Commission was going to talk about allowing chickens (i think it said up to 5 hens, no roos, coop has to be 15' from property line and cant be seen from the main road.
Im glad of that. I moved from The Gainesville fla area to deltona, left my flock in N. Fla. and started building a pen in my new back yard but then decided i had better check the laws. So now i might be getting a few of my ladies back in a month or less.
Lets HOPE...
so if your in deltona, it would be a good idea to let your commissioner know that you are Pro Chicken!

Any more news on Deltona allowing a few chickens? I noticed theses posts were awhile ago. SO what's the update now. I too live in Deltona. I want to have a few chickies but don't want to be fined $100.00 for getting caught.
