The past couple of day I’ve seen the neck stretching and gaping. Also a leghorn developed the black sores on her face (not in her mouth) so maybe fowl pox and not CRD/MG...? Gave her Tylan. Tonight the Denagard arrived.
When I locked the chickens up I checked 5 of the hens. Angel (who I skipped over as she has her own thread and whose issue was impacted crop) has zero signs of lesions, plaques, etc. She does have one raised black spot on her comb, poopy butt and sick poops. She also is not eating or drinking enough. She ate a little cooked chicken yesterday and some mealworms. Her crop feels empty all the time except right after I force feed her. I have pics of her from tonight and will post them shortly.
Crystal. I could have sworn she had plaque or the beginning of the lesions returning this afternoon. But I did not see anything when I checked her mouth and throat tonight. Maybe it was feed stuck in her mouth at the time...? I do not recall Crystal doing the neck stretchy thing either. A funny thing about Crystal is her coloring. Sometimes she looks really pale. Then a few minutes later her color is good. I’ve watched her closely and swear I‘ve actually seen her color come on - like she’d be blushing if she were human. Is this possible? Not the blushing (haha) but the color n the face coming and going??
Buffy, Raven and Daisy. All definitely did the neck stretchy thing, Buffy and Raven way more than Daisy. However tonight none had any beak, mouth or throat abnormalities at all. They also did not have any black spots on their combs, wattles, etc. I do want to recheck Raven in the morning as I’m pretty sure I say bumps forming around her eye area earlier today - which says fowl pox to me. Minnie - the pullet that died - also had bumps around her eye which I thought was pox - which lessened over the course of a week or so.
