Hi Everyone!

My husband and I are working on building the 4X8 Playhouse Coop, with some adjustments. Pics are up at http://picasaweb.google.com/call.me.t/Coop#, I'll post the highlights when it's all done!

A question for those who already have built this coop- how many chickens do you keep in it? The plans say it houses up to 5 chickens, but I'm thinking that might be a little snug. I know the general rule of thumb, but I want to hear first-hand what is working for other people with this coop. Thanks!

WOW_It looks great!!

If Housing banties-Maybe 4-
If Housing Standards probably 3....
With chicks however-you could do a few more either way!!

Great job on the coop!!

So big ,it is enough for 5 chickens ,i think 10 is also OK

10 would be waaaay too many! Unless your just housing chicks in it for a short time. I would also go with 3 chickens. I would think anymore than that they would crowd each other. But I dont have this coop, so I dont know..

My chickens only sleep in the coop and wait in enclosed area for me to let them out in the morning. Then they have 200sq feet to roam. So, dare I say, i've got 16 living in the coop area. They roost on the front flap and I have three or four 2 x 4 roosts up high. I think mine is missing the storage area he had so I think I have more head room. I definitely don't enough room for nesting, so that's the next modification. (first eggs should be in about four weeks)
