These are Americana / RIR mix. 11 weeks old. Can you tell if they’re hens or roosters? Not very good pictures but I tried!

They look like males due to the uneven color pattern but we'd really need clear individual photos to be certain.

If you want to rely on AI, feel free, but AI isn't going to lay eggs for you.
Funny joke 🙄 I’ve actually asked a few fellow chicken keepers already, everyone had a different opinion! So nope, I didn’t rely on AI. That’s why I’m here asking too.

Most of them seem to have male-type tails starting, and combs developing quickly.

What do the parents look like?
The mom is a typical brown rir, the dad is a colorful Americana. A close friend who has New Hampshire red and americana mixed chickens has some pretty colorful hens. Hoping mine would turn out that way too!

Not yet, anyway. Lord help us all when it does lol

What I have found AI good for is is generating policies quickly etc for work, then, tweaking it a little to fit your individual needs. But, for info you had better be careful, I have seen it spit out some very wrong and sometimes off the wall garbage. But, that is an entirely different thread.

I definitely see males in there but need better pics to pinpoint a good opinion for sure.

Oh yes, I’m sure it throws out some off the wall stuff. It basically mashed together a few photos from forums and websites to come up with its grand theory. A few others I personally know have said 1 -3 hens and rest roosters, half and half mix. So I’m definitely curious In the weeks to come. I’ll try and take better pics this weekend. 😃
