Depluming Mite

I have 29 hens and the majority of them have the depluming mite. I have given them Ivermectin, dipped them 3 times in sulphur and a mite dip. The redness will go away and come back again. They are losing a lot of feathers. I'm at the point where I think I'm going to need to cull my flock and start over. Does anyone know of a tried and true treatment. Please note, this mite burrows under the skin. It is not like the Northern Fowl Mite. You can't see it. Dusting the chickens won't help.

The best treatment is to cull.

However, you can try acaricide and mineral or vegetable oil.

It's worth a shot before you cull them.

I don't think culling will stop the problem unless you completely get out of chickens; there will still be lice/mite eggs and such in their housing and bedding.

You probably need to treat this systemically and aggressively. Repeat treatments every 4-5 days for at least 3 weeks. If you have a vet you can discuss it with, that would be helpful; he/she could recommend the best course of treatment. You may also want to confirm your diagnosis.
