Depressed Duck! helpppp!

Last week we had a fox attack, taking 4 out of 5 of our ducks.
Our poor little Theodore is left now, he has a bite to his neck that I have antiseptic spray for and is starting to mend, we have moved him inside the shed away from where the incident took place.
But he is miserable.
Will only drink if he is sitting on my lap, and will not eat at all.
what can I do? getting another duck is not an option for now.

I don't really have any advice, but my thoughts and prayers go out to your little Theodore! So sorry to hear about your other ducks!! That's horrible!!

I'm so sorry there isn't really much to do then only another duck is your answer.

Ducks are very social. I suggest getting another duck as a pal before he gets to depressed. We once bought two sheep and one died and the remaining ewe was baaing until later tht day we were so afraid she'd keel over so we got her a friend. If you live near me id give you one for free.

We have 20 eggs in an incubator at the moment so we wanted to try an wait to see if we got any hatchlings out of it, but mabe a new duck is our only option!

Yes, another adult duck friend will help. I've seen ducks get very sad when their best friends die and will sulk around for a few days. But, when they have other friends, they perk up after a few days.
