Depressed young chicken?

Hello, all!
Our chickens are about 3 months old and have been in their new coop for a month now. However, yesterday we lost one of our chickens due to her head getting wedged beneath some wood at the bottom of their house (this has since been remedied). All our chickens (Americaunas) have been rather lethargic and put-out by the experience but are all healthy, eating, drinking, etc. all save one. This one was the most connected to the chicken who died, and now she’s refusing to eat or drink, and is very limp when walking around. She’s healthy otherwise, so I’m not sure what to do. I don’t want this to grow into a problem, or if she’s sick, I’d love to prevent losing another chicken.

Thank you for reading this!

Not necessarily depression so much as shock. I've seen this with my young chickens when they witness a death of their mates. Shock, even when not accompanied by injury, can kill. So treat this seriously.

Electrolytes with sugar is the treatment. You can give warm Gatoraid or make your own with sugar, water, and a little bit of salt and baking soda. Give an ounce each hour directly into her beak until she comes out of this.

Use a syringe and slip it into the right side of her beak so as to avoid the airway in the center of the throat.
