I have a chicken with bumblefoot, and have some Derma-vet left over from my dog.. Is that well tolerated in chickens, and would it help the bumblefoot? Just got the kernel out - need to put in an antiseptic and was wondering if that would work!?

Welcome to BYC. It looks like several ingredients of Neosporin, plus nystatin, an antifungal medication. It looks like it safe for dogs and cats for foot infections, but I have not heard of anyone using this. Most use the Neosporin or Triple Antibiotic Ointment on bumblefoot.

Edited to say, I doubt if there would be any problem with using it, but I am not a vet.

When I do bumblefoot surgery, I usually apply plain Neosporin or Triple Antibiotic Ointment, a folded gauze pad, and vet wrap strips around the foot, and change it every 2-3 days. Here is a picture from BYC by Ruth of a typical dressing:

Thank you so much for your response, and for the welcome! :)
