Derperella, the (weird) Faverolles, & Friends

Pics
Awesome! I love Derp and this thread! I have finally read all 96 pages and I am now realizing that my Molly may be slightly derpy. I think this because she follows me around and pecks my feet if I don't give her attention first. She has a chronic habit of shaking her head like she is saying "NO!!" haha

Derperella and Juliet

Juliet:
O Derperella, Derperella! Wherefore art thou Derperella?
Deny thy Roo and refuse thy grill;
Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my Derp,
And I'll no longer be a Welsumer...

Derperella:
[Aside] *stares*

Juliet:
'Tis but thy absence that is my enemy;
Thou art thyself, though not a Chook
What's Derperella? it is nor hand, nor foot,
Nor arm, nor face, nor any other part
Belonging to a Chook. O, be not some other Chook!
What's in a name? that which we call a Derp
By any other name would smell as sweet;
So Derperella would, were she not Derperella call'd,
Retain that dear perfection which she owes
Without that title. Derperella, doff thy chair
And for that chair which is no part of thee
Take all my treats

Derperella:
*stares*

Oh my goodness. I love you.

I have a derpy Faverolle mix. She is also a frizzle feather. I call her Brownie because she was my first ever brown chick. So with the last brood hatched by another hen she would follow the mama and babies around as if to be helping care for the babies. I called her the big sister. Anyway, the desperation she showed in wanting to care for chicks made me want very badly to give her a chance with her own babies. The next few that started hatching I gave to her in a box in the coop. She settled right in with them though would not do much to show them the food I put in the box. When she was up to 4 I started leaving the top off the box during the day. The first day out of the box I followed her around with the babies to make sure it went smoothly. Honestly I always felt she was an excellent big sister but doubted her ability to actually be responsible for chicks.
I was correct. We are making it work but it is WORK! She often just ups and walks away leaving the babies behind. I have to remind her that she cant just leave the babies. Funny, but she actually listens to me and will return to the babies. Here is her picture with her brood.

And one of just Brownie, my derpy frizzled Faverolle mix

LOL, She is something to look at isn't she!

She has the fluffiest butt, and the fluffiest feet, and a beard to make any faverolle jealous. She doesn't have silkie feathering as much, but they are a lot softer and much more luxurious than a faverolle. AND her mama, rest her little heart, was the prettiest faverolle hen... This one hatched from one of her very last eggs. I put it under my silkie broody right after she got killed. Boy I am glad I did. She's a lovely little thing.

She is a gorgeous little girl!!! I think the fav/silkie mixes are so pretty well, except for maybe my youngest one but he or she still has time to grow out of that! LOL I will have to get some pics up of them too!

You should see her brother... Not as cute. Nope. NOT AT ALL! LOL. I'll get a pic of him tomorrow. He has beautiful coloring and the feathers are very very soft and silkie. He's fluffy as well. BUT he has a face only a chicken person could love. LOL
