Derperella, the (weird) Faverolles, & Friends

It can take quite a while to recover from wry neck, so even small improvement is worth noting. Its nice that Derp's mysterious fluff lined brain grasped how to go down the ramp. But of course Derp's Fud Lady still always has an ear out for any chicken screams from the coop.

I sure do!! Sometimes I will wake out of a dead sleep if I think I hear someone calling, ahah!
It also means that we still need to keep Derp safely inside (the house) if I will be away for more than a few hours. I hope hope hope Derp will learn to go up the ramp before I leave for a show in a few weeks. It will make less work for the house-sitter if Derp is not inside (yelling the whole time)!

Talk about chicken yelling, my feathery flock is in their coop/run at this time due to a predator attack and they are used to roaming most of the day. They are letting me know in no uncertain terms that they are displeased. If they had little tin cups they would be banging them on the wire 'cause they don't have bars on their prison.

Glad to hear Ms. Derp is on the "ramp" to recovery!

the coho picture was awesome. i loved her larger than life walking over that hill.

glad derp might be getting better. you are such a good chicken mom.

I have a question for feather footed peeps. My 1 yr fav hen 'had' feathers on her legs and feet as she should, but it seems like either she is picking at them or someone in the flock is picking at them, as she barely has any! I gave her a 'chicken pedicure' last night since I notice she has some blood on one foot. She was so mellow while I cleaned up her feet w a toothbrush (I swear if the neighbors ever saw me, they would have me sent to the nut house!) She just sat and watched, didn't struggle once to get away or anything! I sprayed them w/ blu cote so now she has nice clean purple feet! None of the other feather footed hens have a problem, maybe because their feet and feathers are black? Has anyone noticed this w/ their fav?
