On occasion... Florus seems to lose his A LOT. BUT he also has the general opinion that fighting with the other roo through the fences is a good thing, and ends up losing his feathers all the time. Yeah.

Well, what has been going on with Derperella and friends? I must keep this short as I'm preparing for a big show this week!
It has been raining, raining, raining nearly non-stop. Everything is a soggy mess. I have layered my chicken run with several tons of gravel but I'm still getting washouts and ponding. This is the wettest June on record for this area! It is not even long soaking rains, but very intense and heavy downpours that creates wash-outs, flash flooding, and is wrecking my poor veggie garden. I truly wish I could send this to my friends out west where there is drought!
Derperella continues to navigate the ramp... down. She still won't figure out how to go up the silly thing! Despite her neck being much more upright (in fact I'd say she's nearly straight again!) she is clumsy when she flies. Strangely, she will fly onto the roost with no problem, and that's even taller than the ramp. Gosh, Derp!! This is frustrating for me as I have to put her in a crate in the house when I leave for my show, because I can't have her staying out all night when I'm gone. The care takers only come once per day as it's a long drive for them and sadly no close neighbors I trust.
Today Lorp popped her pinless peepers off and managed to cut up the soft tissue around her nostrils a bit. I do not wish to be cruel to her so I need to wait until she heals to put them back on her. I will have to hope she is not overly mean to poor Willow while I'm gone. I really wish I could find her a new home! I cannot give her away though because I have Marek's here.
Otherwise things are going as they will go. I hope Derp learns the ramp soon, and that Lorp tones down the Evil, and that the weather gives us a break! Eeek!
Have you thought about giving her to someone who already has Marek's in their flock? Kinda like people will find homes for cats with FIV giving full disclosure on the condition of the animal. I know of quite a few people who have multiple FIV cat households because they know how difficult it is to find homes for them.
In any case, good luck on your show!
