I've got such an intense craving for Derp/Coho/ Chickadee photos I am climbing the walls. Nambroth please put up some more or at least a paragraph about their antics.
Oh no! Don't climb the walls. The weather here has been vile. I'm sorry there haven't been any Derp updates. The daily routine in the coop has been pretty boring, and muddy and gross.
Please enjoy a few videos to pass the time until I can get my camera out on Derp and friends again! These videos were taken this past summer/autumn.
Here is a clip of Chickadee an Lorp on the day they got their saddles. Chickadee is quite happy-- after all, she understands that it's a lovely thing to protect her from stompy rooster feet. In fact, she was excited about seeing the Fud Lady, and was getting ready to jump onto her arm, when Lorp got too close (you can see Chickadee duck and flinch, she thinks she's gonna get a peck!). Lorp... on the other hand, well. It's a great offense. How DARE something touch her and mar her beauty?!

This video was taken back when Gullincambe was just starting to grow into his voice. Moa is the one on the perch.
This fall, all of the chickens foraging under my lilac bush/tree. I don't remember if I shared this one already or not!
Chickadee is the one with the camo saddle, as she's the huntress of the group.
I hope this one makes you smile. This is me petting Gullincambe, while Kua tries to eat my hands.
For some reason, Kua has it in her head that if fingers come in the fencing, they are food. It's nothing personal. She just really likes food. If she could, she would eat my fingers right down. They'd feel nice in her crop, she thinks. (She's not trying to hurt me, nor is she being aggressive. She just genuinely, with all her chicken heart, thinks that she can eat my fingers!)
Sorry for the crummy audio, here-- I took it with my phone.
