(Today I had a few ham scraps that we didn't eat-- all left over from some food given to me over Easter.)
The Fud Lady cut up some lovely ham scraps to give to the chickens. They love treats.
Derperella loves treats, too. Derp has a strange approach to treats, though. Because Derp is at the bottom of the pecking order, everyone shoves her around when it comes to treat time. Well, Derp has some fire in her! She does not appreciate this. Instead of running, she crackles out a cluck in defiance and skoots in like a mobile loaf of bread to snatch them up.
Treats are deadly serious for Derp.
Because she is bossed around, Derp gets very angry and in turn, has misdirected her anger at the treats. She yells at them as she eats.
Well, Derp had some lovely ham! Oh, it was good. The Fud Lady was surprised that she could toss pieces to Derp, and she'd catch them like a dog!
Some time later, the Fud Lady picked Derperella up to pet her. Derp is a nice chicken, and the Fud Lady is a nice Fud Lady, and together sometimes they cuddle. Well, the Fud Lady gently picked Derp up and pop!
Out came some ham!
It wasn't slimy or gooey or anything. It was just a perfect little slice of ham... like in a cartoon.
Derp saw it, too, and lept down to eat it once again
Meanwhile, the Fud Lady and her husband were doubled over in laughter. In between fits of giggles, the Fud Lady announced:
"I picked up Derp and ham came out!!"
