I read a thread sort of like this but it was talking about an egg drop but I would rather have the kind that slides into a seperate area of the coop. It seems like a fairly simple idea and I quickly made a design on "Paint" for it. Wanted to see if anybody did this and had sucess. Also, has anybody tried astroturf? Does it work? Where do you buy it? I don't have dimensions but you get the idea. Figure I MAY have "flaps" of rubber (think thin tiny mudflaps) to keep drafts out and hens from eggs.. but I dunno. I hope this works and let me know what you think about the angle of the nest floor.

I think it would have to be a pretty good angle, for the egg to roll....and I have to say BRAVO on the chicken drawing!!

LOVE it!
Also....where the egg...lands....make sure there is a pretty good cushion...so it doesnt crack.

Is anybody here old enough to remember Wimpy from the Popeye cartoons?
That is Wimpy the Chicken...

I can just hear him saying "If I could borrow 5 lbs of scratch until Tuesday I'm expecting a parcel fromMcMurry..."

Or... "I would gladly pay you tomorrow, for a hamburger today." And I'm not that old. LoL.
