This year I'm not going to bother planting rows of potatoes, because I always get a much better crop from the volunteers that sprout in the compost heap and other random spots.

This year I'm going to sow all my seeds direct or in modules. No more pricking out!

This year I'm going to grow enough peas to freeze some and not just eat the entire crop directly from the pods within seconds of picking them.

I make these promises to myself every year, and every year I end up breaking them. Does anyone else do this? What are yours?

Or my favorite, I’ll remember what these seeds are and where I stored them.
I have a gardener friend I sometimes swap seeds with by post, and it's become a running joke that we'll often throw in a pack with some kind of cryptic or ridiculous descriptive label instead of an actual plant name.

This year I will harvest more leafy greens before they can bolt. 😕

i tell myself every year i won't put so many tomato plants in the greenhouse.
but i do it anyway.

and i will sow seeds and think they won't germinate after not waiting long enough, so i buy more seeds and plant more. then i have way too many plants. because then they ALL sprout 🤷🏻‍♀️
Been there! This is why my cayenne peppers now spend their existence in a hanging planter each summer. I ended up trying to jam them in every spare space I had that year and it turns out they do better there than anywhere else!

This year I won't have to buy yet another riddle after leaving my last one at a gardening job

*Goes off to look for a colander*

This year I won't treat kitchen, gardening and chicken stuff as interchangeable 🤦‍♂️
