Designated dust bath days?

I just looked out of my window to find 4 out of 5 of my hens practically lined up together like women in old salons dustbathing.

Just thought I'd share this mental image with you as it made me giggle loads

I would assume this is them sunbathing too?

Oh yeah that is the normal sunbathing pose. Mine dust bath in a group like ladies at a spa gossiping

Ah they're gorgeous, I wish mine would get through their moult. One was dust, well...dirtbathing for like an hour earlier. She was loving it

I gave mine an old sand box filled with sand de and sevin dust. It is so cute to watch them I will have to get a pic of them

I need to get some of this DE, they seem happy enough but I don't want to take any chances. This being a newbie business is a slow one haha

But it is worth it IMHO. My chickens give so much entertainment bug control fresh eggs and compost turnovers. I love it

Oh yeah definitely, I find myself going to check on them, then spending over an hour watching them

Someone on byc once referred to it as chicken tv so appropriate.
