Yes we have, it's just like grooming a poodle for us. And they're Labradoodles... Goldendoodles are the worst for grooming because their long retriever hair and the poodle hair REALLYYY should not mix lol.

Yep! plus there is a difference between a GOLDENDOODLE and a LABRADOODLE. Ultimately with the goldendoodle's the poodle side can determine the haircoat colour, as we all know poodles come in a variety of colours. Labs can carry mosaic, black, yellow, chocolate genes, etc. which can sometimes produce more interesting colours than the goldendoodles. Our Labrador Retriever, Samari, was a mosaic lab, ie. She was black and yellow. She was from CKC parents with great lines, but wasn't registered herself.

I really just wanted to give my 2 cents, I'm not going to bash the designer breeds, because obviously someone wants them and will pay for them....it just won't be me!!

We had our 'product of a chained up back alley girl' pup, our beloved Harley (granted we didn't own the chained up mother, just took a pup) My husband got him his senior year of college and had him 14 years...we think Harley was a lab, collie, shepherd mix with something smaller too?!? He was an awesome boy, and he was FREE!!

When we put him down, an experience I hope none of you ever have to face, the whole family was devastated and had a huge hole to fill. That very weekend, we looked in the Trader Paper and found a "breeder" close by (only 2nd litter from mom and dad on site) for a full blooded Lab, we didn't care if we had papers for her or not, but we got them. We actually thought our mutt Harley was the smartest dog we ever knew!! But we are now the proud owners of Harley's Angel Lady Lucy!!!! Lucy has been a huge part of our family for the last 4 years!! We only paid $200 for her.

I guess the point I am trying to make in all of this, is "do what is right for your family" If you feel fine paying $10,000 for a dog-then do it!!! For me, I could think of a lot more that I could do with that money!! While I was getting more lumber for my chicken coop today, a local church was building a home for Habitat for Humanity...I would have much rather paid $200 for my dog, and given the rest to them!! But that's just me!!! You do what makes your heart feel good!!

Lucy still our baby girl...even though she is now a little jealous of the baby chickens...but in my opinion, a Lab is the best dog in the world!!!

I have a shear with a half inch blade and it grooms both the labradoodle and poodle. Of course, like all pets......they need brushing daily. Even short hairs and most dogs need grooming....unless you don't mind hair all over the house. Another good reason for the doodles. My cat's hair really gets to me.

There is no Lab at all, of any color, in a Goldendoodle

She was obviously thinking lab because she has a LABradoodle not a Goldendoodle, the terms are used interchangably a lot and really they're not the same dog. A goldendoodle can have a black golden parent though, if the breeder uses a flat coat retriever, which essentially is a black golden retriever.
