ok.I have to chime in here..if you are seeing parvo pups from a pet store it is the stores fault,,not the breeders,if they are buying pups from a parvo kennel they need to stop until it is under control..more then likely they need to clean up the store as that is probably where the parvo is comeing from, either way they can end it at or before it comes to the store..and if you work in a vet clinic you should know that just because a puppy has had shots does not mean it is 100% protected..and even less protected if they have only had 1-2 shots..
Yes, pretty much any puppy under a year, vaccinated or not, has the potential to get parvo if exposed. It all depends on how many vaccines they have received and how strong their immune system is. My real beef is that the petstores providing these designer breeds buy their stock from puppy mills, who mostly treat their animals like livestock. It's true you can get a really nice pure breed from a puppy mill sometimes. I had a lovely Tervuren grump who was puppy mill bred. However, I adopted her from a shelter (puppy mill got none of my money). A lot of the designer dogs come from puppy mills, who mass produce dogs, often genetic nightmares, and treat them horribly. I don't think anyone on here would disagree that puppy mills are a bad thing.
