Its not you, alot of peoples hens are broody or stopped laying in this heat.I was down to one egg a day after a cat got into the pen and killed my 4 split lavender girls. So now one ofmy LGDs sleeps in there at night with them.
And had several broodies as well...

Her chicks are cute as a button,I have 2 one a black silkie mix my nieces says its getting silver in it.Im keeping the black Orpington bantam one unless it turns blue then it will go to my nieces for her bantam flock...

Peggy,
If Tazcat can send BLRW and leave out the game and jap I will take it. My Guinea is laying again. She laid then went broody. Then the turkey stole the nest. She sat with the turkey a bit then started laying again. When her first eggs were getting ready to hatch under the turkey she went broody and fought with the turkey for the eggs and they broke some so none hatched. Now she is laying again. She needs to make up her mind.

The BLRW are mixed. Their roo died the first hot spell we had.

The only mature roo on the place is the splash bantam Orp, and then there is the young silkie roo.

If it matters, the Wyandottes are blue. I do have a roo growing out, but he is only 4 mos old. He also is blue. My stock came from Katy.

I'm confused. I thought you had a black and a splash bantam orp roo and the silkie. So are your BLRW pure and covered by your bantam splash roo?

You haven't stalled the thread the heat did it! I am trying not to hatch to much extra. Helps if I stay off the site. Right now I will only take offers of things I am trying to get for breeding stock. Fortunately no one offers those things on any swap that I can do.

Mine.

Offer
6+ Barnyard surprise. Laying right now are

my pair of Pearl Guineas

and

Splash hen and EE hen covered by a Blue Wheaton Bantam or a splash silkie, or a cross roo with the biggest rose comb I have ever seen. I am testing fertility on a pair of Booted Bantams. All my teenagers are with the splash and EE hens. The Turken may be close to breeding age (almost 6 months). Depending on how long I stall the thread some others may start laying or some may stop laying.
