I have 10 buff ducks giving me an average of 6.5 eggs per day. I have about 6 dozen eggs at this point and have sold an additional 2 dozen and given another 2 dozen away. I don't know how to get rid of the excess, and I just want to get some help with the feed bill when I sell them.

I've tried:
Craigslist
Facebook Marketplace
Sign in yard
some other sell stuff cell phone apps

I don't know if I need to significantly lower the prices ($5/dz) or if people are just weirded out about them not being chicken eggs.

At this point i'm considering getting a buff drake and just trying to sell ducklings / fertilized eggs...

You can always crack the eggs open and make a nice omlette for your duckies...

In a cold place you can store, especially duck eggs for months. During the winter time your birds will most likely take a break and you could use those stored eggs.

I envy you! My three Indian runner ladies have not even started their assembly line, they're 4-5 months old and i'm afraid there won't be any eggs before spring.

Not likely a huge market... I would sell some hens before I would add a drake. And wind myself up with a bunch more growing little pigs I can't sell. :hmm It is true that my hatching eggs and chicks go for WAY more than eating eggs... but only certain breeds and there is generally a limit to how many before your area become saturated with your birds.

$5/dozen duck eggs is cheap in my location. I wouldn't lower my price as then I may not even be covering my full cost to produce that dozen. Maybe some cost covered is better than none?

Maybe you can offer some samples? Or need help revamping your ad, to show all the benefits... like baking with them and such?

Got any health food stores with posting boards? In fact many of our restaurants have posting boards. As well as some health clinics.

My local feed stores... BOTH will sell eggs and give equal store credit.

Or maybe you can donate the eggs to a food pantry or homeless kitchen and take a deduction on tax return? That never truly pays off financially. But it's an idea!

Maybe you can talk with local restaurants or bakery's about possible trades... depending on your location regulations may be in place.

I do feed some of my extra's back to my flock and dogs, though it isn't an economical feed and are very high in fat so just as a treat.

Good luck! :fl

Great ideas from everyone above! Also local Farmer's Markets (usually Saturday mornings in parks and parking lots) don't have strict requirements so you could maybe sell eggs there. You could also use some of the eggs and bake goodies with the eggs so people could sample. I had an excess of about 5 dozen eggs so I made pound cakes last week to give to all the neighbors - it's really a bribe so they don't complain about the early morning quack-alarm! ;)

I live in GA. Laws are a candeling license to transport off farm, business license to sell at Farmers market. State/federal inspections to sell to stores/restaurants. We don't eat that many eggs... If I lowered the price significantly (to local chicken egg prices) I could probably sell them. Also we've had several inquiries about if they might be fertilized.
