Ah they're hatching!!
I've never heard of plugging in the turner late. Is this typical? I've just been starting it on day 0 with the heat

No, I should have turned them from the beginning. I had read the link at the beginning of this thread for detached air cells suggesting it was better not to turn them at the beginning and I wish I had turned them in the egg cartons from the start. I did add the auto turner back in for the last week.

They’re hatching!!! Three out of four have pipped and are chirping and wiggling!!! Crossing our fingers that all three get out ok! I’m stupid amounts of excited and nervous! I’ll keep posting updates! Thank you so much for the support! ❤

We have a fully hatched and apparently healthy little Rhode Island Red!!!! The other two that have pipped have not made much progress but are still moving around in there so I think they’re ok. Waiting impatiently for the next baby to hatch!!! Super anxious!!!!

Thank you so much for being my involuntary emotional support group through this!!! Lol! It's so hard to feel so little control. I want with everything in my being for every single one of them to live but I know that just isn't how it works. All we can do is try to give them the best shot possible with the information we have.

I'm still waiting for the other two and trying to decide at what point or if I should help them. I am not good at the waiting part...

I've made sure they stay right around 70%. It shot up to 80 for a few minutes when the first one hatched but it's back down now. Do you think that's too high or should it be ok? They're both definitely still moving around in there.

Three hatched and the one I was worried about was dead when we candled it. But just under 50% is pretty standard for shipped eggs. I'm a little sad that we lost any but happy that some survived! I've learned a TON! Getting my next dozen eggs to incubate tomorrow! Lol! I might be hooked... I'm picking these ones up from a local farm though! None of the shipped egg business if I can avoid it anymore! Thanks so much everyone for your encouragement and support!!! I'll post pics soon.
