Detailed incubation records

I'm setting eggs today.

I want to know what everyone keeps track of during incubation...besides the 'regular' temperature and humidity levels.


I plan to label each egg and keep track of fertility and quitters but what else can I chart?

Number of eggs with unclosed CAMs at different dates in their incubation? I don't, but it would be neat to see. My hatch records have denigrated from a multi-page daily entry to set, hatch, and quitter numbers scrawled on the wall next to the incubator.

Can you elaborate? Temp, humidity, fertility, quitters and hatch rate are the norms.
Myself, I don't track anything.

but what else can I chart?

• Make note of air cell before setting (normal, jiggly, detached, etc)
• Egg weight when set, then egg weight every x number of days.
• Egg weight at internal pip
• Percentage of weight lost.
• Date of internal pip
• Date of external
• Date of hatch

More details needed. Duck, chicken, quail or what eggs? Auto turn or manual? Dry hatch or not?

I can think of a few more things to chart if there were more details.
