Deterring chickens from berry bushes

Hi there,

We have 3 hens and we like to let them free range in our yard. We have set up garden fencing around our small gardens and, so far, that has kept our gardens safe. However, on our patio, we have 2 miniature blueberry bushes in planters. I used to live around a lot of orchards, and they would tie foil ribbons into the cherry trees and in the vineyards to keep birds out. Does anyone have any idea if this would work for chickens? Fencing the blueberry bushes would ruin the "look", but we like having them out to exercise and enjoy the sunshine and fresh air. Not to mention eat the bugs. Maybe we are just being unrealistic about being able to mix the birds and the bushes.

How about bird netting - the stuff they use in strawberry fields to keep the birds from pecking the strawberries?
