I just looked at the ingredients in the Bactine wash we use on the bumblefoot when we doctor them. It contains Lidocaine as a pain killer. There's the "caine" again! And they've never had a reaction to that at all. I always thought Lidocaine and Benzocaine were similar drugs. We all should look at the ingredients in the ointments we use on our chickens and reevaluate their safety.
