Words cannot begin to describe my devastation in writing this post. My town allows waterfowl as long as the surrounding neighbors are not disturbed. My horrible neighbors called and complained because their dog started digging in their garden to tunnel under the fence, and now the town is making me re-home my babies.

I plan to put this off as long as they will allow me, but I do not want the town to take them. I just know they will do something horrible to them.

I am looking for a nice home for my babies. Three pekin and one blue-runner. I believe one pekin and the one blue runner are girls, and that the other two pekin are boys. They are just over six weeks old now. Healthy, beautiful babies. Growing like weeds. They love snuggles, they love swimming, they're curious little buggers.

These are my babies. My first duckies I have ever owned. I hatched them from brand new eggs, and have raised them with every ounce of love in my heart. I didn't know I could fall so deeply in love with these little guys, especially in such a short time.

I do not want them to be butchered. I do not want them eaten or abused. I want them safe, I don't want their eyes to be pecked out by others. These are my babies. I can't imagine not protecting them every day.

Ideally I would like to keep them together, but I understand if that is not do-able for you.

Please let me know if you or anyone you know would want to adopt these little angels. No cost at all, and all of the current supplies I have will be given to you alongside the little guys.

I live in MA, but am willing to travel a bit if needed.

Please let me know ASAP. The sooner I tell the town, the sooner they will get off my back, and hopefully I will get an extra few days with my guys.

Gosh I'd take the lil Runner in a min since I have Runners but too far to even drive. :(

I am so sorry this has happened so instead of them fencing their dog to keep him out of their garden and your yard which if he had succeeded your ducks would have most likely been killed they report you? I am so very thankful I don't have neighbors. That is so upsetting. Any chance of trying to talk some common sense into these neighbors maybe offer to buy them a dog pen they can keep their dog in so it won't get into the garden? I know it's not your responsibility to do this but anything to be able to keep your babies.

I’m with Fishmtfarm, I would fight that decision. You don’t control nor are responsible for you neighbor’s dog anymore than they are your ducks. And getting rid of the ducks probably won’t make the dog stop digging, if a dog likes to dig they dig.
If the officials in whatever office don’t listen ask if they are going to ban people from sidewalks or kids from neighboring backyards cause that makes dogs dig, bark and jump too, or cats or rabbits or the mailman.

Truly your neighbor’s clam would never hold up in court so the city really can’t justify making you get rid of the ducks.

If your ducks were doing something that would be different as the ducks are your responsibility and that’s what the fowl restrictions apply too.

So you mean to tell me that you have to get rid of your ducks cause your neighbors can’t keep their dog under control? Honey I would fight that one. That’s a bunch of BS. If worse comes to worse, a bunch of use I’m sure can ban together and find a home were they all can go. @Pyxis how about you? Do you have room?

THANK YOU! They're all acting like I'm the crazy one for getting mad over this. Who cares about their stinkin dog?! I think they just like trouble. It's always something with them. Called the town on us because our tree was growing too high and "blocking their view".... view of what!?!? The other houses!?!? Sheesh.

I've been in a huge back and forth with the town.... they decided to extend this stupid dog excuse by saying the ducks attrack coyotes and raccoons and put the neighborhood at risk.... !?! There were hoards of raccoons and coyotes around here long before my babes hatched... AND theres wild turkeys all over... those are what attract the predators!! And little rat dogs like the one next door are the ones keeping the predators around!!!

I don't understand how they can try to punish humans for nature taking its course.... predators exist. Prey exist. It's a food chain and I am not the one controlling the coyotes.... seriously. Ugh.

Sorry for the rant

These people are ridiculous. Years ago THEIR tree fell in OUR yard. We paid for half the tree removal cost but they got all pissy that we didn't pay for the part in their yard to get removed.... like it's YOUR TREE !!! they shouldve paid the whole thing. Literally so ridiculous
