Well, I keep all of my chicks together until I can tell sex which is usually at about 3 weeks of age and then I separate them out into breeding groups.
I avoid integration at all costs.
I set eggs. Separate and butcher extra males.
Rinse and repeat. I usually do not keep any breeding groups longer than a year and a half or two so I am constantly rotating my cages/birds.

If I see a male being aggressive he dies that day. I don't put up with it at all nor do I care what weight he is because I will eat him either way.

Sorry for my back-to-back posting... I do not keep extra males around ever.
I prevent injuries at all costs the same way I prevent integration at all costs.
