Deviled eggs

Boil eggs
shell
cut in half
put yolks in a bowl
mix with Kraft Sandwich Spread until creamy but slightly thick
add a small pinch of salt to taste
put the deviled filling back in egg halves
sprinkle a light dusting of paprika on eggs (or not)
top with a thin slice of green olive (or not)

My family has made them this way for eons and everyone loves them!

Hmmm, sounds like I need to try Cayenne next time, maybe....

Maybe on just a few of them

just in case the family hates it.

eta - as a side note... does anyone else find themselves making devilled eggs, or onion roll ups or whatnot just for special occasions/holidays? I did, so last week I made onion rolls ups (green onion with cream cheese and ham) and the family asked what the occasion was

I said I just felt like eating onion roll ups.

My family considers Deviled Eggs a food group, not a special occasion! I often make them as a side dish. When I was growing up though they were for Christmas and Thanksgiving ONLY!! What was up with that??!!

I need to make them more often.

as another side note - we have our family reunion in august every year - this year no less than 4 people brought devilled eggs

(I was not one of them) and not one of those four put any crunchies in their devilled eggs!!

I can't be the only person who puts crunchies in!! I know I'm not.

My FIL doesn't like crunchies in them, but ON them. He piles the Bacos on each egg!

Oh, this is SO true...!!! There is a simple fruit salad that I can remember Mom making every year at Thanksgiving and Christmas, and at no other time. The ingredients are available year 'round, but I find myself RARELY thinking of it at any other time during the year, presumably because we only had it at those times. I'll have to start making it more often so we can enjoy it at other times. It is made as follows:
Cut up desired amount of apples (golden & red, or whatever varieties you prefer). [We peel some and leave the peel on the rest for color.], bananas, and oranges. Throw in some pecan halves or halves & pieces, or English walnuts if you prefer. Whip 1/2 pt. or 1 pt. of whipping cream (amount depends on amount of cut up fruit you use) until nice & fluffy, adding sugar to taste. Fold in the fruit, and voila! You have a nice, natural, and perfectly delicious fruit salad.

hmmm...... devilled egg day here. Gonn have to go start some water boiling.....

They do tend to be a special occasion food but I make them for myself every once in a while. My husband and kids are weird, they don't like them. I do put dill pickle relish in mine for a little crunch. I like the idea of green onion as well. Mine are usually just mayo, yellow mustard, relish, and paprika on top. I am making some for a party today, so I might try some of the other ideas.

The usual here. Dill kosher relish with roasted red peppers, mayo, kosher salt and cracked black pepper. Top it with paparika and fresh parsley for color!
