Dewlap African Geese...Post pics!!!

Most of our browns, as well as the Holderreads buffs we had a few years ago, begin developing Dewlaps by 5-6 months old. It may be a difference in lines.

Could be, what do you give your goslings to eat when they're born and when they grow older.
I find that feeding them different foods effects the growth rate

the better the food definitely helps with the growth rate.

i mix in quality Hay with good feed and it seems to make the geese grow faster and larger. quality of food always plays a role in good growth

He's a sweetheart! He was in the pen and came running to me as soon as he saw me! I'll have to get better pics of him when he's not under the tarp! LOL

I can't wait to get him a mate next year. I had 4 eggs and his was the only one that developed. I've only found one person here in the States that has them.

Africans must have a dewlap to be African...... read the breed standard. An African without a dewlap is like Pekin ducks that are black. It just doesn't work!

My Africans came from holderreads they are about 9 months old they are big babies.
