Deworming?

hey guys, I’ve been reading the threads for a day now and the older articles read one way versus a few I’ve seen that say something else. As a PREVENTATIVE wormer I was planning on using the fenbendazole paste. I have Wazine but wanted to assure it’s safe to go straight to the paste. My flock has never been dewormed. They are 7 months old. Not in moult and they are laying.

Hi Rockismith21. I use apple cider vinegar as a preventative in their water. It works well. I still monitor for any outbreaks and so far so good.

I see. I've assumed that when a chicken has a serious roundworm infestation some would be visible in the poop.
Why would a parasite leave its host when it's sitting there nice and fat and happy sucking the life out of it while reproducing at the same time?

Oh dear... Now I am worried my hens are overrun with parasites since my oldest is two and I have never treated for worms! :he:th

If you decide to worm your hens, use Flubenvet. It's a very good wormer with no egg withdrawal.
