My DH is soooo wonderful!!! I just put in an order to McMurray this morning!

The wee of July 7 we will be getting 1 BO ( that one is hubby's lol her name is Buella

) 1 RIR, 23 Cornish Roasters and 1 rare chick. I can't wait! I really wonder what my rare chick will be

Everyone said it was only a matter of time before he came around to my side. I don't think he will get like I am and go and sit with the chickens but he already named HIS chick. He was the one who said that none of them should get named.

Oh mine has sooo come around, too. In the beginning he was all freaked out. "You want to raise what?" Now we have turkeys, ducks, guineas, egg layers, roos, and meat chickens

Our Turkens have been ripped up by the roos, so I said, "Maybe we should rehome them." My DH said this morning, "I don't want to get rid of the Turkens. I love the Turkens."

He said LOVE.

Congrats on your new order!

We drove by a farm today and they had emus in their yard

He looked at me and said don't even think about it hehe. Although it is still another story when he hears my handsome 10 week old cockerel crowing. He said it wouldn't be so bad if I didn't sound just as cocky as my roo when I crow back to him

I hope my rare breed is a roo

They're such frauds!!

Mine was convinced, CONVINCED, that chickens were mean. That was a year ago. Since then, he's built them a wonderfully lavish, Fort Knox of a coop. He sits and talks to them. He hand feeds them when he goes out to tuck them in at night. He's often the first to the coop in the morning. He feeds them goodies. Then this last week, while I was out of town for work, he made hourly - HOURLY checks - on the barred rock, who was looking a little out of sorts. (He sent me follow-up emails or calls after each check.)

So much for not liking chickens. Phooey. He's worse than I am!

I looked out the knitchen window earlier today and seen my hubby feeding the chickens.

He doesn't know that i seen him. Also I have a W. Legorn roo and he says that that roo is his. It's so funny. One minute there calling you nuts

and then the next they are asking when will they do this, or when will they do that.

I am waiting for the day when he brings home a pullet or 2.

My DH hasn't really came around yet. He doesn't bother with my chickens or ducks, unless there is something trying to get them. He will tend to that for me.

He did somewhat shock me the other day though. I have 12 eggs in the bator right now and he wanted to know why I only had 12 in it. He said that if I am going to use it, then I need to fill that thing up. I said alright, next time I will...lol I guess that was his way of saying that I could have more chickens...lol

This is all to funny lol. We were walking through Home Depot today looking at stuff for the new coop that I asked him to build me. We walk by one isle and he says " You know I could just weild the frame of it together. "
lau.gif
He will jump all over weilding anything before doing it any other way. Then he told me I could be like alot of my other chicken people and use part of our stimulis check to build a new coop. Oh,,,, everyone,,, you are all my chicken people according to DH. Who is now listens to me read him stuff from here. I will admit that I was not expecting him to hop onboard this soon. And insisting that he gets to have a chicken
gig.gif
then picking out the breed. It took him half an hour of reading through the McMurray catalouge to pick HIS chick out. Then says that he won't name her and hour or two later her name is to be Buella when she gets here

I called all my family members and told on him

My husband has yet to fully warm up to them, but he does like to sit there and watch them jump up for treats, and things like that. He enjoys their mannerisms. I told them I wanted a house chicken and he rolled his eyes, but he was smiling that smile. They are growing on them. muahahahahahahahahaha lol
