I would, but I think he'd be too embarrassed. He's never been to a strip club or anything similar. Not to mention his mom will be here!

Now the look on both of their faces would be priceless!

The strippers here are totally not worth it. Have you ever seen anyone up here that would fit the bill?? think Victorville WalMart.....

That is EXACTLY what I was thinking after reading tdgill's post (#41).

It wouldn't be an amazing smoky voice...it'd be a raspy voice from too much smoking! And we won't get into what she might look like.

She'd probably have to pay us!

I know what you are talking about, but I wouldn't trust what I got here in our area. I'm thinkin' we've got slim pickin's here. Even the guys that go to strip clubs don't go to the ones in our area...they drive a ways!

I looked online for general Adult Birthday themes/party ideas.

Between what has been mentioned on here and what is online, here are my thoughts:

Pig Roast - can't find a pig and shipping is too much.

Hawaiian Luau - not bad, good food ideas, but it'll be Nov (weekend before T-giving)..not exactly luau time. And, he's never been to hawaii or crazy about it (he'd rather be in the mountains). Still not a bad idea though. It'd be fun! And we can give everyone Lei's.

Margaritaville theme - similar to the Hawaiiam Luau (same foods), but he likes margaritas and Jimmy Buffett more than Hawaii.

Octoberfest - Oct - Nov...what's the difference. ha ha Maybe call it Novemberfest.

He likes beer, we brew our own (when we can) and it'd work.

Farm theme (a little more focused than a western theme) - beef, chicken, etc. Goat would be nice (tasty!). Have a cake that has chickens on it or something. Tell everyone to dress is jeans and flannel or something similar. (we do live in SoCal! Farms are common around here!)

Any other ideas are greatly appreciated!

I have to disagree on birthday parties not being potluck. In our area, no matter what the occasion for the party, the first question I ask is "What do you want me to bring?" Even if they say "nothing", I'll bring a salad or chips and dip or something. The same goes for people coming to our parties, it's almost always potluck. We usually have enough food but the potluck gives so much more variety. I have a good sized family, so it may shock people but my wedding was potluck from my sisters. We had only invited relatives and close friends and just had it in our front yard, it was a blast!! (Does this make me a major red-neck?)
I think a farm theme would be great or if he likes the mountains, maybe a wild game feed? Do you have some friends who hunt? Maybe they would throw together a stew or some such thing?
Have fun in whatever you decide to do!

I had a few who asked what they could bring when I gave my husband his 50th. I told them no, just bring yourself and have a good time.

I don't mind the idea of doing a potluck, but it isn't necessary, so I will say no, even though people will ask. My MIL will bring food regardless, so I am just asking her to help so that way I can stick with a theme (she REALLY wants to make baked beans!). Around here a potluck is not considered rude; however, it is not necessary.

The wild game idea is great! He'd love that. No, none of our friend hunt (you don't want to eat the game around here...too gamey (desert sage). Most people drive to NV or UT to hunt). But, I bet I can either find a butcher that can get it or order it online and have it shipped (game steaks are MUCH cheaper that a whole pig!). There is a store "down the hill" that has buffalo too.
