DH

I think it is far less trite then having to read and write "my husband this" and "my husband that", not to mention the efficiency of it, but it was odd typing it for the first time.

The abbreviations do take some time to get used to but then you find yourself using them as much as everyone else just for convenience, lol!

I don't see anything trite, irksome or disrespectful by using DH for "Dear Husband" or the variations of that for other family members.

It's just an acronym. It won't bite you, I promise.

I don't mind the abbreviations, sometimes I have to look them up to see what they mean, hee hee. And sometimes I can just figure them out. Its like texting on the phone, etc, the young generation have all kinds of abbreviations!!

I like DH it can mean so many things and no one but me will know which one I mean and he will think I like him all the time.
Seriously, they are tough sometimes for people like me who have a hard enough time understanding stuff. It took me a week to even find the list telling me what DH meant. I just printed it out....

I just find them easier and have seen them used on lots of forums. And as with the thread where someone was irritated by "bumping", I have much more significant things to get irritated about than the way someone types or doesn't type on the internet. When things like that start to irritate me then I'll make use of the big X in the upper right corner of my screen.

Am I to understand that you are offended by the use of "DH" period of that you are offended because you say it means something derogatory?
I went to you link and didn't really find anything.
