Oh dear, don't worry about bringing your problems on here, we ALL do. As far as the pregnancy goes at least they figred out your blood clotting is what may be contribting to the stillbirths and they have a handle on it. Make sure you check your blood as directed, eat what you need to, and ask the doctor's any questions you have, that's what you pay through the nose for. Even if it seems like a silly question, call the office and talk to a nurse.

you got that right, about paying through the nose , now im seeing some really big perinatologist.........im glad she took me on, very glad, but its like 500 bucks just to say hi.
im really down, really scared, and i just feel like i cant do it anymore, like its all just too much, i dont want to kill myself or anything like that, but its overwhelming, im so scared to loose another baby, even though the dr. assures me and assures me that everything looks wonderful, now im having sugar issues with this pregnancy this time around, it was never an issue before, and with all that, plus heparin injections 2x a day, i feel like im full of holes!

First off You've got to relax! You know that stress can make your blood sugar go crazy right? Nothing will get easier by worrying yourself half to death. I had a serious problem with diabeties with my first pregnancy. The doctor had me under the microscope and had to call me in on an emergency basis many times even though I was being super good! It turned out fine and even though I accepted the fact that life has no guarantees and was concerned, I learned to let go of things I couldn't control (well most of the time anyway). Both my parents have diabeties so it's gonna be something I just have to deal with but I've learned how bad stress can be and I've learned to accept help when people offer it. I know what it feels like to be a human pin cushion too!

Take a few deep breaths, relax and take care of yourself! If you need to vent, do it calmly... Asking for help on BYC is a great sign that you are taking a positive step in the right direction. Walking as often as you can get out for a half hour to an hour is very good for keeping blood sugar in check as well. Just check with your doctor to see if activity is ok with your past problems. Check out some new churches in your area so you have a support network. I know it's hard but keep up the good work!

Mahonri you are terrible! What are we to do with you...?

Are you a type 1 or a type 2? Since you are already pregnant, I would not recommend a pump right now, but after this pregnancy (and I hope everyhting goes well!) I would certainly jump on getting an insulin pump! (This is considering that you are type 1, not type 2) The pump makes controlling blood sugar sooo easy!

I'm a type 1 diabetic, but have no experience with pregnancy, so I can't help you much there. I can tell you to try and relax! As another posted mentioned, stress is bad, bad, bad! Watch movies, clean, cook, do whatever you have to, but just relax. Stress tends to spike blood sugar, and it is difficult to get it back down because your sugar is spiked with glucophage which is secreted from the liver. Insulin can easily take care of the regular sugars and most carbs we eat everyday, but glucophage is more complex and takes longer to break down.

From the OP's original post, it seems like she might be a diabetic who is pregnant. If that's the case, the answers to some of her questions might be different. I just wanted to be sure!

No matter what kind of diabetes you have. You need to be taking care of it under a doctors supervision especially since you are pregnant. If it is new to you see a dietitian as well. Gestational diabetes is a little different than other kinds of diabetes and can be difficult, you have to be careful. It can have serious consequences. One good thing about it is that it goes away when you give birth.

I am not diabetic, but I AM pregnant. Pregnancy hormones are most likely what is causing your worries and fears right now. It can be overwhelming even if you are healthy. You can PM me if you need to talk
