Diaper Chicks on the loose!

Thanks for the pic. I think I'm going to try something with the covered straps next time. They have to fit just right or they don't like them. I guess they need to get use to them too. I plan on letting mine join the superbowl party today.

I have one for my cockatiel, I bought it though. Mine was totally not worth the money, My cockatiel hated it, and it was waaaaaay over priced, even though it was around 4x smaller than your chickens'. It probably was 5x more expensive also.

I like how you made yours yourself. They're most likely better qualitiy too.

It's a easy pattern, Buttonquailboy posted it a while back and I used it to make mine. It's pretty simple. It looks like an upside down mushroom, or rounded bottom apron. You cut two pieces, sew a few edges, add elastic and two inches velco and wala - diaper, he he

One thing that my diapered girl (the girl in my avatar) doesn't like is if the bib part in front comes up too high. The pink one that lovemychix has would make my poor girl freak out. The first one I made looked kind of high like that, and I ended up having to cut a semi-circle out of it. So all the others that I've made have a v-shaped front, and she's comfy. Otherwise mine are like lovemychix, and I got the pattern and instructions on youtube.

I'm afraid she's a permanent indoor fixture. I haven't told my hubby of my suspicions yet. I've brought her in for her head to heal from a severe picking by other birds, and put her back out just with the young packing peanuts and bantam cochins and it happened again. She's back in the house, healing again. Maybe when the packing peanuts are butchered, she can get along with the calm bantam cochins. If not... she's gonna have to stay in here with me, cuz I love her and don't want to re-home her.

Cross your fingers for my hubby!

Love everyone's pics. Thanks for sharing!
