I am going to Wal-Mart on the 7th, & I'm wondering what size diapers I need to get for my chicklets. So far they are still only a handful of fluff. Roo looks just like a mini-hen, but Maxie doesn't. Maxie has tiny wingies & Roo is almost flying.

You can get diaper for chickens at walmart???? I though people made them?

Why would you want to put diapers on them? Are you attempting to make house pets out of them? Mine never have been and never will be in the house, not even as baby chicks.

Mine were only in the house while I inspected them, then moved to the garage for a couple of weeks, the garage is now completely coted in a layer of yellow chicken dust and it is NASTY!

My hubby is not happy about this

because we were not expecting the dust!

we live in an apartment, yes, I'm trying to make house pets out of them. Or Roo at least. Maxie died yesterday

I have seen chicken diapers and saddles(for hens) advertised on BYC now and then. If you google chicken diapers I'm sure some will show up. I don't think the smallest baby diapers would work on chicken. Even a 5 lb. baby is alot bigger than a chick. My friends has had house chickens for many years and never used diapers - but she should. She is cleaning up endlessly after them. I would think a small batam breed like Seramas would be easier to make into pets - that is what they were developed as.

I think they still need outside time to scratch and hunt and do chicken stuff, they aren't puppies. My friends seems to overlook that. She wants to be the center of their universe and as people often point out chickens prefer to be with chickens. She has birds(canaries, finches etc.) beta fish, turtle , dog etc. I wish she'd just let chickens be chickens and not expect love and loyalty like dog.But I can understand having small chickens as housepets just not as dog substitutes.

She will get to go outside & scratch, do her chickie stuff. I have turtles too & they go outside whenever the sun permits.

I just ordered some chickie dipes for my indoor seramas!
