Suggestions please. Aussie has had diarrhea for at least five days now. He's going to be double digits this year and I think the cause was giving him a butcher bone which he happily chewed (under supervision) because there's been no other stress or dietary change. He's been on a chicken and rice diet which he's getting tired of and I'm tired of cleaning his fur. Otherwise, he seems fine personality and health wise. Anything else I can give him to help?

After 5 days it's time for a vet to check on his gut.

To determine if it's a dire emergency (emergency vet visit time) answer the following please.

Is he refusing to eat?
Is he vomiting?
Is he drinking excessive amounts of water?
Is he lethargic?

If yes then it's time to look into emergency vets in your area. It could mean intestinal blockage.

As you said he did have a bone then you noticed this, could he have potentially digested a large piece of the bone and now has blockage? I would take him to a vet.

Also to add to these questions
Has he ever had digestive issues?
Could he possibly have worms?
Has he been breathing heavy, seem like its hard for him to breath or making grunting noises?

It's definitely vet visit time, and take a fresh stool sample with you for testing.
An uncooked bone could certainly cause food poisoning, and some of those nasty bacteria can infect you too! Wear gloves when cleaning him up, no kisses on your face, just be careful.

I held off on feeding a meal and then gave small amounts of food throughout the day along with a couple teaspoons of plain yogurt occasionally. Worked great. He never had any other issues and had normal disposition so vet visit didn't seem needed. I think the problem was eating food he wasn't used to and then changing his diet too quickly.
