It was optional here too at one time. Back when I had a cat the vet offered to do a small tattoo inside the ear of my cat at the time of desexing. If the cat did get lost, at least the pound could then ID if the cat had been desexed.

Local governments have a very controlling business model. I'm not saying dogs don't run away. Who are these people to be telling anyone how to care for or what to do with their own pets? I'm sure many dogs do run off if given the right circumstances.

There will always be a-holes in this world but I don't believe they are the majority, and there is no eveidence of such. Someone mentioned the treatment of their neighbours' dogs being locked in kennels and not being fed correctly. Where is the law now? Only when someone reports these ppl will the rules / laws be enacted, if at all .. probably only if there is a $$ to me made from their treatment of the dogs.

I also have a seriously defective neighbour with 3 small breed dogs; 2 are non-stop barking maltese terriers, which he doesn't feed when it suits, in order to ensure they bark non-stop at the fencelines while he goes out for the whole nite. For more than a decade I have repeatedly called every known authority available to me to throw the book and all it's laws and rules at this cruel man. He still has the dogs and has recently started allowing them to bark again. The rules / laws don't apply to him regarding his overall neglect and ill-treatment of these dogs or his total disregard of his neighbours.

Good people do not need rules or laws or to be told how to care for anything, be it a plant, a pet or a child.

I checked and Brew is due for A TON of stuff in 2025. It’s like at least 4-5 vaccines because two 3 years are up at the same time plus some annuals and stuff. Plus they’ll probably wanna do another heartworm test and/or stool sample. Plus the fees like for the office visit etc. Our bill is gonna be massive this year.

It seems to be a Boston thing. When they really want something they'll stare right into your eyes, shiver, and look so sad. haha
